Job summary

SLB is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Measurement Control System projects from inception to completion at our Malton, UK office. You will drive scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative energy industry solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation & Control, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven project management experience delivering control, instrumentation, automation, or measurement system projects within Oil & Gas, Energy, or wider Industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of Measurement Control Systems and related technologies including instrumentation, PLCs, RTUs, SCADA/HMI, flow measurement, communications networks, and control system integration.
• Experience managing projects across the full lifecycle from design and procurement to manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Measurement Control System projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, sponsors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders with clear communication.
• Manage project financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, cash flow and margins with regular reviews.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource needs and quality plans with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor risks, issues, scope changes, and opportunities; escalate and manage them effectively.
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement through quality gate reviews and project close-out.

Job Summary:

SLB is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of Measurement Control System projects.

In this role, you'll take overall responsibility for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring all customer and business requirements are met while delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. You'll play a key role in driving project performance, maintaining quality standards, and achieving strong financial outcomes without compromising on excellence.

This position is based at our Malton office, where you'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions for the energy industry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead the successful delivery of Measurement Control System projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring objectives are achieved in line with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, sponsors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication and effective management of expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, cash flow, and margin performance, presenting progress through regular financial reviews.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource requirements, and quality plans, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
• Monitor project performance, proactively identifying and managing risks, issues, scope changes, and commercial opportunities.
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of products and services in line with project requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, completing quality gate reviews, and ensuring effective project close-out.
• Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation & Control, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven project management experience delivering control, instrumentation, automation, or measurement system projects within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or wider Industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of Measurement Control Systems and associated technologies, including instrumentation, PLCs, RTUs, SCADA/HMI systems, flow measurement, communications networks, and control system integration.
• Experience managing projects throughout the full lifecycle, from design and procurement through to manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and final handover.
• Knowledge of fiscal, custody transfer, or production measurement principles would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams across instrumentation, controls, electrical, and software disciplines.
• Understanding of hazardous area requirements and relevant industry standards such as IECEx, ATEX, API, ISO, and IEC 62443 is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing project risks, opportunities, budgets, forecasts, and change control processes.
• Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, system integrators, and site teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Familiarity with customer acceptance processes, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
