Job summary

South West Community Chaplaincy in Rugby invites applications for a Project Manager – London Marathon FTC. You will lead the end-to-end planning, delivery and evaluation of the charity's London Marathon fundraising programme, with hybrid working and a fixed-term contract ending in June 2027.

The role focuses on developing project plans, budgets, governance, and supporter journeys to maximise income while delivering an engaging donor experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally within fundraising, events or the charity sector.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception to evaluation.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering income-generating activities and meeting financial targets.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience using data and insight to improve performance and supporter engagement.
  • Experience of working on a challenge event portfolio

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, delivery and evaluation of the charity's London Marathon fundraising programme.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, risk registers and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure effective governance and project management processes are in place to deliver programme objectives.
  • Maximise fundraising income from London Marathon participants through effective supporter journeys, communications and stewardship.
  • Work closely with fundraising colleagues to ensure the marathon programme complements and strengthens wider fundraising objectives.
  • Create and deliver a high-quality supporter experience that inspires, motivates and retains participants as supporters.
