  • Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and resolving issues before they impact delivery
  • Providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Managing early warnings, change reports, variations and payment requests where required
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely and in accordance with relevant standards and best practice
  • Maintaining effective communication across all project stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities for project growth and improved commercial performance
  • Measuring project performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Escalating delivery issues promptly and taking a proactive approach to finding solutions
  • Supporting the Regional Operations Manager with regional operational activities where required
What we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who is organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

You’ll ideally have

  • Experience managing project budgets and financial performance
  • Good understanding of risk and change management
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision‑making ability
  • Good commercial awareness and a focus on project profitability
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • A structured and proactive approach to project delivery
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Experience within Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), highways, infrastructure or technology
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, PMP or an equivalent project management qualification
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience

We’re particularly interested in people who can demonstrate a strong track record of delivering technical projects successfully, balancing customer requirements, commercial objectives, safety, quality and timescales.

What we offer

At SWARCO, we’re committed to creating a supportive environment where our people can develop, take ownership and make a real difference.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll receive:

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service

  • Life assurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme

  • Training and development opportunities
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • The opportunity to work on innovative Intelligent Transport Systems and infrastructure projects
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment
