Job summary

Altrad Services A/S in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of the scheduled intervention and upgrade works on a critical site. The role requires management of cost, schedule and quality while upholding nuclear safety, security and environmental compliance.

The successful candidate will manage NEC4 contracts, coordinate with partners and stakeholders, and ensure momentum across design, delivery and commissioning phases. Hybrid working pattern offered.

Qualifications

• Available to work on Base or in Glasgow a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Active SC clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance.
• Minimum 5 years’ consultancy and/or construction delivery experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.
• Experience delivering infrastructure works within the built environment.
• Proven experience managing electrical projects from design through to completion.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of specialised electrical systems and their installation.
• Strong commercial knowledge, including cost and value of packages and experience questioning and challenging Compensation Events (CEs).
• Hands-on experience managing delivery under NEC4 contracts, including change and stakeholder management.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.
• Degree qualified in a relevant subject.

About The Role

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team in Glasgow.

The nuclear defence sector in the UK is vital for maintaining national security and strategic stability. The Project Manager will lead the coordinated delivery of the scheduled programme of intervention and upgrade works of the site. The successful management of this programme of works is critical to ensuring the sustained and continued use of this support facility which underpins the overarching project plan. The PM will ensure the project is managed to cost, schedule, and quality while maintaining the highest standards of nuclear safety, security, and environmental compliance.

Working pattern: hybrid (office based & home)

Key Deliverables:

• Project management of design, delivery and commissioning phases of electrical systems.
• Provide project management expertise to establish and deliver project specific objectives.
• Use and promote appropriate leadership styles to gain and maintain the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of team members and stakeholders throughout the project ensuring continued momentum.
• Manage NEC4 contracts to maintain a productive working relationship with industry partners, monitoring their performance in terms of quality, time, cost and reliability. Identify and manage emerging issues to avoid programme delays or cost escalation.
• Manage financial performance of projects to control expenditure against approved project budgets and provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
• Have a sound knowledge of risk process and management.
• Make recommendations based on impact assessments about whether to approve, reject or defer changes, or to request further information.
• Update relevant plans, schedules and communications to reflect approved changes, and manage approved changes within the configuration management system.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

Essential:
