Job summary

City Building (Glasgow) LLP is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of projects and change initiatives that support its strategic objectives.

You will plan, deliver and embed projects that drive business improvement and enhance operational performance across the organisation, coordinating with stakeholders at all levels to ensure scope, resources, timelines, risks and budgets are managed effectively.

Qualifications

  • The post holder should hold a recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, PMP or APM PMQ.
  • Experience delivering transformation, digital, technology, or business change projects in a public sector or regulated environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a portfolio of projects and change initiatives.
  • Plan, deliver and embed projects driving business improvement and operational performance.
  • Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams and manage scope, resources, timescales, risks and budgets.
  • Promote best practice in project management, governance and reporting, ensuring compliance with standards.

City Building provides a range of repairs and maintenance, manufacturing, construction and refurbishment activities for Glasgow City Council and Wheatley Housing Group's citizens and customers as well as other public, private and third sector organisations. About the Role

We're investing in the future of our project delivery and are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate a portfolio of projects and change initiatives that support City Building's strategic objectives and long-term transformation agenda. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in planning, delivering, and embedding projects that drive business improvement, deliver measurable value, and enhance operational performance across the organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, providing leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary project teams while ensuring project scope, resources, timescales, risks, and budgets are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. You will foster collaboration across business areas and technical teams to ensure successful project outcomes and the achievement of organisational objectives. The successful candidate will promote best practice in project management, governance, and reporting, ensuring compliance with organisational, regulatory, and quality standards. They will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support the successful delivery of change programmes, and help strengthen City Building's project delivery capability, ensuring the organisation remains innovative, efficient, and future-focused.

What You Will Bring

The Project Manager will be an experienced project management professional with a strong track record of delivering complex business change, digital, IT, or transformation projects within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be experienced in leading multi-disciplinary project teams and engaging with stakeholders at all levels, using excellent communication, organisational, and influencing skills to drive collaboration, manage risks and dependencies, and achieve successful project outcomes that deliver measurable business value. You will be highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring project scope, resources, budgets, timelines, and quality standards are effectively controlled throughout the project lifecycle. You will take a proactive and solutions-focused approach, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining focus on delivery and continuous improvement. The post holder should hold a recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, PMP, APM PMQ, or equivalent. Experience of delivering transformation, digital, technology, or business change projects within a public sector or regulated environment would be advantageous.
