Job summary

Gold Group Limited in Glasgow is seeking a Project Manager to join our defence engineering team. The role reports to the Head of Project and involves acting as a Control Account Manager, overseeing cost, schedule, and technical performance within an integrated delivery team.

The successful candidate will deliver multiple control accounts, ensure robust planning, accurate reporting, and effective risk management. BPSS clearance is required; 5+ years residency in the UK is essential.

• Proven ability to manage multi-layered projects and drive performance.
• Recognised as an experienced project guidance practitioner within the business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver multiple control accounts with defined scope, planning and control.
• Provide accurate progress reporting against budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Manage financial performance, cost control, forecasting and risk for assigned scope.
• Guide customer and stakeholder groups through reviews and progress meetings.
• Support preparation activities for phase reviews.

Role: Project Manager

Location: Glasgow - Hybrid

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + 12.5% bonus + benefits

Project Manager needed to join our client, an established defence engineering firm based in Glasgow.

The Project Manager supports the Project Delivery team, delivering assigned scopes such as discrete projects, work packages, or multiple Control Accounts. Reporting to the Head of Project, they act as a Control Account Manager, accountable for cost, schedule, and technical performance. Working within an integrated team, they provide experienced project management support to senior leadership on a multi-layered programme, ensuring robust planning, consistent processes, accurate reporting, and effective risk management while coordinating with specialists to drive performance and achieve successful outcomes.

Please note this role would require candidates to obtain BPSS Clearance (5+years' residency in the UK required).

What the role of the Project Manager entails:

Some of the main duties of the Project Manager will include:

• Deliver multiple Control Accounts ensuring full definition, planning and control of project scope
• Ensure accurate progress reporting against budget, schedule and quality targets
• Ensure financial performance, cost control, forecasting and risk management for assigned scope
• Guide and support customer and stakeholder groups through reviews and progress meetings
• Support planning and preparation activities for Phase Reviews

What experience you need to be the successful Project Manager:

• You will demonstrate extensive professional knowledge of project management tools, techniques, and practices, with understanding of Commercial and Finance
• You will develop innovative solutions to multi-layered project and business inquires
• You will be recognised as an experienced and credible project guidance practitioner within the wider business
• You will hold a recognised professional project management qualification (e.g., APM, PMI) or equivalent experience
