Job summary

Catering is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a large commercial construction project in Knottingley. You will take overall responsibility for delivering the project safely, on programme, within budget and to required quality.

Key duties include managing site teams and subcontractors, coordinating with the commercial team on costs and variations, and chairing progress meetings with stakeholders. Weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Overall management and delivery of the construction project
• Managing Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and site teams
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with the construction programme
• Monitoring progress, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions
• Managing subcontractor performance and coordinating trades
• Working closely with the commercial team on costs, variations and project performance
• Chairing progress meetings and providing regular project updates
• Maintaining strong communication with the client and other key stakeholders
• Ensuring high standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the project
• Managing quality, programme, logistics and overall site performance
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and contractual requirements

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a large commercial construction project based in Knottingley.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the delivery of the project, working closely with the site team, subcontractors, client and senior management to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE

• Overall management and delivery of the construction project
• Managing Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and site teams
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with the construction programme
• Monitoring progress, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions
• Managing subcontractor performance and coordinating trades

QUALIFICATIONS

• SMSTS Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• CSCS Managers Card

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience working as a Project Manager on large commercial construction projects
• Strong background in managing projects from construction through to completion
• Excellent understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and project delivery
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management experience
• Good commercial awareness
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Must be prepared to work some weekends when required

Salary: £450 - £500/day Freelance Contract, Ongoing
