Job summary

Babcock International in Plymouth, Devonport Dockyard is seeking a Project Manager to own technology, digital and infrastructure projects from initiation through to handover. You’ll coordinate technical specialists, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, on site at Devonport. You will gain exposure to complex delivery environments, manage end-to-end project lifecycles and develop relationships

The role

As a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of delivering technology, digital and infrastructure projects from initiation through to operational handover and closure. Working with technical specialists, suppliers and stakeholders, you'll coordinate people, resources and activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Day-to-day, you'll have the opportunity to work on varied and meaningful projects that support business transformation and operational excellence. You'll gain exposure to complex delivery environments, build relationships across multiple disciplines and develop valuable experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles within a leading defence and engineering organisation.

• Managing the full project lifecycle from initiation through to delivery, operational handover and closure.
• Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets and resource forecasts.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to deliver agreed milestones and outcomes.
• Managing project risks, issues, dependencies and change control activities.
• Reporting project performance, forecasts and delivery progress to stakeholders and senior leaders.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Project Manager

• Experience delivering projects within a technology, digital, information technology, data or digital infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrable project management experience across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience managing project scope, risks, budgets, schedules and change control.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and suppliers while managing competing priorities.

Qualifications for the Project Manager

Essential

• Degree, HND or equivalent experience in Project Management, Business, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (PMQ).

Desirable

• Agile certification.
• Scrum certification.
• Relevant professional development in project delivery, business change or digital technologies.
