Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for a major warehouse and logistics package on a nationwide infrastructure programme. Leiston/Sizewell, Suffolk, on a long-term freelance basis with potential permanent position.

You will manage non-M&E work, coordinate multiple subcontractors, drive programmes, ensure safety, build stakeholder relationships, and deliver to NEC3/NEC4 contracts, budget, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Experience delivering projects valued at 30m-40m+.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and work packages.
• Experience working within NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract environments.
• Excellent programme and schedule management skills.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple subcontractors across concurrent construction work packages.
• Taking full responsibility for project delivery within designated areas.
• Developing, monitoring and driving project programmes and schedules.
• Managing short-term and long-term work plans to achieve key milestones.
• Coordinating site activities and ensuring efficient subcontractor performance.
• Ensuring compliance with NEC3 / NEC4 contract requirements.
• Managing progress reporting, planning meetings and stakeholder engagement.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Supporting commercial teams with change management and variations.

Construction Project Manager - Major Infrastructure Project
Leiston / Sizewell, Suffolk (IP16)
Long-Term Freelance Opportunity Potential Permanent Position
500 - 600 per day (depending on experience)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of infrastructure, operational and facilities solutions supporting one of the UK's largest and most significant construction programmes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Project Manager to take ownership of a major package of works within a large-scale warehouse and logistics facility supporting a nationally important infrastructure project.

This is a long-term freelance assignment offering excellent project stability, significant responsibility and the potential for a permanent position.

The Role

A substantial warehouse facility has recently completed its shell construction phase and is now progressing through a series of fit-out, construction and operational readiness works.

You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the non-M&E packages, overseeing multiple subcontractors and ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Typical packages include:

• Warehouse racking installation
• Internal fit-out works
• Minor building and construction works
• Internal alterations and modifications
• Insulation packages
• Building fabric works
• Finishing and associated construction packages
• Coordination of multiple construction trades and subcontractors

This role requires a highly organised Project Manager capable of driving programme performance while managing numerous stakeholders across a fast-paced project environment.

Requirements

To be considered, applicants should demonstrate:

Essential

• Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager
• Experience delivering projects valued at 30m- 40m+
• Strong track record managing multiple subcontractors and work packages
• Experience working within NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract environments
• Excellent programme and schedule management skills
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
• Background delivering industrial, logistics, commercial or infrastructure projects
• Ability to drive projects safely and successfully through to completion

Desirable

• Major infrastructure project experience
• Warehouse, distribution centre or logistics facility experience
• SMSTS
• CSCS Card
• Construction, Engineering or Project Management qualifications
