Roles include Programme Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Assistant Project Manager, targeting individuals with a Civil or MEP engineering background.

Devonport Dockyard

£350/day - £550/day Ltd (depending on experience and role engaged for)

We are partnered with one of the Framework Consultants delivering upgrade projects at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. Our client is looking to take on 3 new freelance hires with experience in the UK defence industry to manage packages of work in one of the basin areas.

Currently, we need:

Programme Manager (Associate Director Level)

Senior Project Manager (Mechanical Handling & Moorings)

Assistant Project Manager (Cranes and Moorings)

• You will ensure quality systems are managed in line with service excellence.
• You will deliver and manage project plans from inception through design development, planning, contractor procurement, and construction, in accordance with the overall delivery program and milestones.
• You will manage tasks and deliverables supporting senior project managers and the wider project and client teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Review design processes and engage with the design team as needed.
• Assist in scoping work packages for design drawings in coordination with package managers.
• Support procurement of packages, reviewing and appointing subcontractors with the commercial team.
• Assist construction managers to ensure trade work packages meet delivery schedules, liaising with Building PMs/CMs as needed.
• Contribute to Contractor Reporting (Dashboard).
• Attend regular progress meetings.
• Monitor contractor design, program, and deliverables.
• Review and oversee key quality sign-offs.
• Assess incoming changes, advise on scope adjustments, and update programs accordingly.
