A little more about your role…

As a Project Manager, you will be pivotal in delivering civil engineering projects within the Scheme Delivery Framework contract for Highways. You will lead project delivery teams, ensuring adherence to quality, time, and budget requirements. Your daily and weekly responsibilities will include:

• Leading teams delivering design & professional services projects for UK transport infrastructure.
• Preparing key documentation such as the co-ordination procedure, project plan, safety plan, and governance materials.
• Engaging with the Client project leadership team regularly.
• Developing project pricing submissions, schedules, and client instructions to proceed.
• Embedding project delivery strategies to ensure successful delivery and commercial performance, meeting KPIs.
• Coordinating with the client’s technical disciplines to manage information flow.
• Administering contracts, including change management.
• Managing resource demands within project teams and the wider WSP business.
• Preparing monthly reports for client and internal use.
• Driving compliance with WSP procedures.
• Creating a positive environment for team development and growth.

Our Civil Engineering teams in the South West include engineers, technicians, and project management professionals based in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, and Truro. We work on diverse projects across rail and highways sectors for clients like HS2, Network Rail, and local authorities.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

• Membership or progress towards membership of the Association for Project Management, or equivalent qualifications like APM PMQ / Prince2 Practitioner.
• Experience managing teams, planning, and contract administration (preferably NEC3 and NEC4).
• Experience managing project budgets and understanding financial landscapes.
• Excellent communication skills and proactive engagement.
• Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and make strong decisions.
• Capability to work under pressure and excellent organization skills.
