Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to drive projects in the Greater London area from inception to final account. You will coordinate with consultants, contractors and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality and safety adherence.

The role requires chartered status or progression toward it, strong knowledge of CDM 2015, and robust risk management. You will lead master programmes, procurement strategy, and post-project reviews, while managing

Qualifications

  • Ideally chartered with MRICS, ChPP or MCIOB, or working toward chartership.
  • Relevant experience working within the construction industry in a similar discipline.
  • Ability to deliver a medium to large size project with minor support from senior staff.
  • Excellent technical knowledge in project management; client-centric with focus on targets, quality and deadlines.
  • Ability to hold own in discussions and meetings with contractors and senior clients and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from outset to completion across all aspects of the project life cycle.
  • Work collaboratively with construction professionals and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and to budget.
  • Prepare appointment documents for consultants.
  • Support identification of project KPIs.
  • Schedule project meetings and arrange meetings and workshops, including agendas and minutes.
  • Produce the master programme and monitor progress.
  • Support procurement strategy reporting with the client and quantity surveyors.
  • Support project tendering and procurement and collate contract documents.
  • Implement change control and maintain the change control template log.
  • Negotiate with contractors to establish budgets and programmes.
  • Manage and support project teams during snagging inspections.
  • Prepare defects schedules and administer defect closeout.
  • Manage handover processes and support client moves.
  • Lead post-project review discussions.
  • Support negotiation of final accounts with the quantity surveyor.
  • Provide contractual advice pre- and post-contract to design team members and clients.
  • Support settlement of final account packages, including claims negotiation.
  • Observe Health & Safety provisions and CDM 2015 regulations, escalating HSE issues.
  • Endeavour to improve social and environmental impact.

Requirements

  • Ability to delegate tasks to assistants and support them on project activities
  • Ability to network and willingness to contribute towards business development and fee proposals, has knowledge of clients and competitors and actively pursues potential business leads
  • Understanding of the business, the other disciplines and their services offered
  • Comply with technical processes and procedures
  • Ability to deliver a project from inception through to final account
  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
