Job summary

Fawkes and Reece are seeking an experienced Fit Out Project Manager for a major commercial fit-out in Watford. The role is a long-term fixed-term freelance contract with potential repeat work on future schemes, reporting to the Construction Director and collaborating with the commercial and site management teams.

You will drive programme performance, manage client relationships, and ensure delivery to the highest standards while maintaining safety, budget, and schedule integrity on site.

About the Role of Fit Out Project Manager

As Fit Out Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a major commercial fit-out project from pre-construction through to completion and handover. Working closely with the Construction Director, commercial team, and site management team, you will drive programme performance, manage client relationships, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project manager looking to join a Tier 1 contractor with a strong pipeline of work across London and the Home Counties.

Responsibilities for Fit Out Project Manager

• Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a major commercial fit-out project
  * Managing site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders
  * Driving programme performance and ensuring key milestones are achieved
  * Overseeing project budgets, procurement, and commercial reporting alongside the commercial team
  * Ensuring Health & Safety, quality, and compliance standards are maintained throughout the project
  * Leading client meetings and providing regular progress updates
  * Managing project risks and resolving technical and operational challenges
  * Coordinating project handover and successful client sign-off

Requirements for Fit Out Project Manager

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering commercial fit-out projects
  * Previous experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor is essential
  * Strong understanding of CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects
  * Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
  * Ability to manage project programmes, budgets, and project teams effectively
  * SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred
  * Must be based within approximately one hour's commute of Watford
