Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a proactive Project Manager to lead planning, coordination and execution of HV electrical infrastructure projects across the South of England. The role is home-based with site visits to BRUSH substations and requires a full UK driving licence.

You will develop plans, schedules and budgets, procure materials, manage subcontractors, ensure H&S compliance and communicate with clients and regulators to deliver projects on time and to high standards.

Qualifications

  • HNC/Bachelor's/Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent) desirable.
  • National Grid certifications preferred but not required as training can be provided.
  • SMSTS or NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction or IOSH managing Health and Safety (or equivalent) essential.
  • APMP project management certification desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules and budgets to ensure that projects are completed on time.
  • Identify and procure material, equipment and labour required for projects.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors and other vendors.
  • Ensure projects comply with Health & Safety regulations and other laws.
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to meet project requirements and address issues.
  • Manage project quality and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks with corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Manage project financials including forecasting, budgeting and cost management.
  • Lead and evaluate project team performance.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of HV electrical infrastructure projects across our new and existing developments in the South of England. The role will be home based with expectations to visit our various substation sites. Working 40 hours per week Monday – Friday. The ideal candidate should have a full UK driver’s licence and be comfortable with traveling to various BRUSH sites as required. Car allowance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules and budgets to ensure that projects are completed on time.
  • Identify and procure material, equipment and labour required for projects.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors and other vendors.
  • Ensure projects comply with all relevant laws, regulations and standards including Health and Safety regulations.
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to ensure that project requirements are met and address any issues raised.
  • Manage the quality of work and ensure that projects meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Manage the project financials, including forecasting, budgeting and cost management.
  • Manage the project team, including assigning tasks and responsibilities, providing guidance and direction, and evaluating performance.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously monitor the project progress and ensure that scope, time and cost are in line with the project plan and budget.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the project team members.
  • Provide training to team members to improve their technical and professional skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends and best practices in project management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to ensure continued business opportunities.
  • Manage the project aftercare process and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations by providing regular updates and progress reports.
  • Continue to improve the project management process and methodologies, including development and implementation of project management systems and procedures, to be more efficient and effective.
Qualifications and Experience
  • HNC, Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, or in a related discipline (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • National Grid certifications preferred but not required as training can be provided.
  • SMSTS or NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction or IOSH Certificate in managing Health and Safety (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Project management certification, such as APMP from APM, is desirable.
