You will oversee projects from planning through to handover, ensuring programmes, budgets and quality standards are maintained, while coordinating with clients, site teams and subcontractors to achieve successful delivery.

Qualificações

The Opportunity

Contek Recruitment Solutions is representing an established engineering business in its search for an experienced Project Manager to join its Contracts team.

With a workforce of approximately 102 employees, the business provides a full turnkey solution, taking projects from initial design and manufacture through to installation. Its varied portfolio includes projects across airports, ports, sports grounds and other specialist facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware Project Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with clients, internal departments, site teams and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery from initial planning through to completion.

The business operates from a large manufacturing facility incorporating welding, fabrication and assembly, providing close links between project management, engineering, manufacturing and installation.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating projects safely, efficiently and commercially, ensuring programmes, budgets and quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

• Managing projects from initial planning and inception through to completion and final handover.
• Coordinating project resources, programmes, costs, materials and subcontractors.
• Maintaining strong working relationships with clients and communicating project progress effectively.
• Monitoring project performance, budgets, cost control and overall commercial outcomes.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Coordinating site teams and carrying out site visits to maintain programme, quality and delivery objectives.
• Preparing, reviewing and maintaining detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Planning and coordinating crane operations and complex lifting activities.
• Liaising with internal engineering, manufacturing and installation teams to ensure effective project delivery.
• Identifying and managing project risks, resolving issues and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an organised, proactive and commercially minded Project Manager with experience delivering technical projects in a construction, electrical, engineering or similar environment.

You will ideally have:

• Proven project management experience within a technical or engineering-led industry.
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
• A sound understanding of project commercial management, cost control and programme delivery.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex RAMS and ITPs.
• Experience planning and managing crane operations and complex lifting activities.
• The confidence to coordinate subcontractors, site teams and internal departments.
• A flexible approach and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am–4:15pm.
• Friday: 12:00pm finish.
• Some flexibility is available around start and finish times, with arrangements such as 7:00am–3:00pm possible.
