Job summary

White Label Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Project Manager for a Sunderland-based, permanent role with a well established engineering consultancy in the North East. The role covers bid support, contract review, budgeting, and programme control, with client-facing duties both on site and remotely.

You will manage project execution plans, cashflow projections, and risk monitoring, ensuring milestones are met and overspends are flagged early. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
• Formal Project Management qualification (PMI, APM or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience delivering engineering projects, mechanical or construction background.
• Experience with project controls: planning, scheduling and cost.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support proposals at bid and pre-contract stages.
• Review contract documents to capture all requirements.
• Build the Project Execution Plan and contract close out plan.
• Set budgets, track costs and flag overspends early.
• Manage internal/external programmes and cashflow projections.
• Lead kick-off and progress meetings; report monthly to clients.
• Attend client meetings both virtually and on site.

Up to £65,000 + £5,370 car allowance + up to 9% bonus

Here's a great opportunity to join a well established engineering consultancy in the North East that works across most industrial sectors. They've built a strong reputation for quality, and most of their work comes from repeat clients, so you'll be joining a business with a steady pipeline and long standing relationships.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting project proposals at bid and pre contract stage
• Reviewing contract documents so every requirement is understood and captured
• Building the Project Execution Plan and a clear plan for contract close out
• Setting budgets, tracking costs, approving spend and flagging overspends early
• Managing internal and external programmes and cashflow projections, spotting risks along the way
• Leading kick off meetings and ongoing progress meetings
• Reporting progress internally each month and externally to clients as required
• Attending client meetings, both virtually and on site

What you'll bring

• HND or degree in a technical or engineering discipline
• A formal Project Management qualification (PMI, APM or equivalent) ideally
• Project Manager experience, including projects in an engineering environment. Either Mechanical or Construction background
• Experience delivering projects under both standard and non standard contract termsProject controls experience across planning, scheduling and cost
• Comfortable reading engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong IT skills, including MS Project or P6 and cost control software
