Job summary

Climb Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a manufacturing environment in Stockport. You will manage customer relationships and drive project launches, ensuring delivery and quality.

The role requires degree in a business field, a proven track record delivering manufacturing projects, and strong Excel/Word/Project skills. Oil and Gas exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Manager in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to deliver projects to tight schedules.
  • Degree standard preferred in a business-related field.
  • Engineering background with knowledge of manufacturing processes and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with quality plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships by ensuring needs and expectations are communicated to relevant areas of the business.
  • Implement effective project launches coordinating with Sales, Quality and Manufacturing to assess delivery and quality implications.
  • Produce and maintain clear project plans and schedules for customer presentations.
  • Identify schedule slippage or risk early and develop recovery/mitigation plans.
  • Foster high morale and proactive teamwork with effective communication.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and procurement to meet delivery schedules.
  • Report additional costs to internal management and the customer when appropriate.

Job description

Role: Project Manager
Role Requirements

An experienced Project Manager from within a manufacturing environment with the ability to work to tight delivery schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage customer relationships by ensuring that the Customers’ needs and expectations are communicated promptly and clearly to the relevant areas of the business.
  • Implement effective project launch while liaising closely with the Sales, Quality and Manufacturing Departments to ensure that all delivery and quality implications have been assessed.
  • Produce and maintain clear project plans and schedules that meet the Customers’ needs to present information and progress to the Customer in a professional and clear format.
  • Identify any slippage or risk to schedules as soon as possible internally and develop recovery/mitigation plans.
  • Maintain a high morale and initiative culture, through adopting a positive approach to team working and effective communication.
  • Work closely with key suppliers and the procurement department to ensure supplier delivery schedules are achieved.
  • Ensure correct reporting of additional costs incurred to project, are identified to internal management and the Customer where appropriate.

  • Ensuring all internal stakeholders and Customers are continuously updated with regard to project status
  • Building a credible and trusted partner relationship with key Customers
  • Reporting directly to the Product Manager
Job Requirements Qualifications
  • Degree standard preferred in a business relevant field.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering manufacturing projects in a demanding and technically challenging environment.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry would be an advantage.
  • Engineering background essential with a good all-round knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of Business ERP/MRP software systems.
  • Understanding of Quality plans and specifications.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Project.
