Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is recruiting a Project Manager for a 12 month FTC in Rotherham. You will lead new product introduction projects within a technical environment, coordinating with R&D/Engineering and major stakeholders to deliver requirements on time and within scope.

You will drive project schedules, manage risks, and maintain clear communication across cross-functional teams, while administering supporting processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management within a technical industry.
• Background in high volume manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and communicate with board level.
• Proficient in project scheduling, risk management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own new product introduction projects and their lifecycle stages.
• Define project scope, deliverables and success criteria with stakeholders; lead reviews.
• Schedule management to ensure visibility and timely progress updates.
• Identify, monitor and escalate project risks and issues.
• Coordinate tasks across cross-functional teams inside and outside R&D/Engineering.
• Serve as main contact for cross-functional project matters.
• Oversee technical documentation and flag critical challenges in delivery.
• Administer project components in JIRA, PLM, quality management and ERP systems.
• Support Head of R&D and Programme Manager to drive communications and stakeholder engagement.

• Job Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Position: Project Manager 12 month FTC
Reports to: Programme Manager
Location: Rotherham sites, with travel to third parties as required

Nicholas Associates is recruiting for a Project Manager to join an established & forward-thinking client, on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in high volume manufacturing, to further their professional development & take the next step to expand their existing project management experience.

You will manage the progress of and administer to projects within the R&D/Engineering department, working closely with major stakeholders in the business to develop and deliver requirements, and supporting the Programme Manager and Head of R&D to build resilience in timelines and mitigate against risks effecting project activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and own new product introduction projects and the involved product lifecycle stages
• Manage the setting and development of project scope, definition of deliverables, and the agreement of success criteria amongst the relevant stakeholders, as well as the leading reviews periodically throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage project schedule through Microsoft Project to ensure visibility of deliverables and allow for accurate progress updates
• Manage project risk and issue profiles, monitoring, analysing, reporting and escalating issues independently
• Manage tasks across cross functional teams inside and outside of R&D/Engineering to ensure business alignment with and understanding of project deliverables
• Act as a main point of contact for cross-functional teams on project matters
• Oversee technical documentation completion and ensure visibility of critical technical challenges within project delivery
• Administer project components and tasks within the company's JIRA, product lifecycle management, quality management and ERP systems
• Work with the Head of R&D and the Programme Manager to drive efficient communication, process adherence, and stakeholder engagement

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Background in project management within a technical industry, preferably high volume manufacturing (Engineering; Software; Technology)
• Strong stakeholder management skills, from junior staff to board level
• Ability to be flexible in terms of project methodology (Waterfall; Agile; Hybrid), to meet the needs of a diverse technical team
• Problem solving aptitude
• Have an excellent work ethic and be self-motivated.
• Microsoft Office competence - Word; Project; PowerPoint; Excel
• Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships with all levels, ability to work as part of a team
