Job summary

Fawkes and Reece is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver a £5m+ high-security fit-out in Reading. The role requires delivering from pre-construction through to completion, coordinating with client, design teams, consultants, subcontractors and internal commercial and operational teams.

You will manage delivery, programme, quality and safety, coordinate design, procurement and construction, and maintain rigorous security standards.

Qualifications

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading main contractor on a c. £5m high-security fit-out scheme in Reading.

This is a high-profile project requiring a proven construction professional with strong project delivery experience and the ability to operate within a highly controlled, security-sensitive environment.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with the client, design team, consultants, subcontractors and internal commercial and operational teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery, programme, quality and health & safety.
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors, consultants and site teams.
• Driving the programme to ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
• Managing project risks, change and commercial interfaces.
• Leading project meetings and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Ensuring works are delivered to the required specification and quality standards.
• Coordinating design, procurement and construction activities.
• Maintaining rigorous standards around site security, access and confidentiality.
• Providing clear reporting on progress, programme, risk and performance.

About You

We are looking for an established Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering £5m+ fit-out or refurbishment projects, ideally within commercial, government, defence, critical infrastructure or other security-sensitive environments.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing projects of £5m+ value.
• A strong fit-out / refurbishment background.
• Excellent programme and subcontractor management skills.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• A methodical and highly professional approach to project delivery.
• Relevant construction qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
• Existing high-level security clearance or the ability to obtain the required clearance.

Security Clearance

High-level security clearance is an essential requirement for this position. Due to the sensitive nature of the project, candidates will be subject to the relevant security vetting and clearance requirements before being granted access to the site/project.
