Job summary

Balfour Beatty Living Places is seeking a Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of highways maintenance and third‑party works projects in the UK. You will own delivery from inception to handover, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance while collaborating with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.

The role requires strong programme management, cost awareness and the ability to drive continuous improvement, with the opportunity to support contract growth and winter service delivery

Qualifications

  • Experience in highways maintenance, civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong operational and project delivery knowledge.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Understanding of project costs, KPIs, and service levels.
  • Experience coordinating programmes of work and multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams and build collaboration.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical information.
  • Proactive and flexible approach to project delivery.

  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Provide clear communication and direction to operational teams and stakeholders.

About the role

Balfour Beatty Living Places is looking for a Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of highways maintenance and third-party works projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and operational teams to manage projects from inception through to completion while driving continuous improvement and supporting long-term contract growth.
