Job description

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to be based in Manchester on a full-time basis, reporting into the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
  • Ensure adherence and adoption of Munich Re’s project management methodology – ‘MR Essentials’.
  • Define resource requirements and manage resource availability & allocation – both internal and third party.
  • Outline a budget based on requirements and track costs to deliver the project on budget.
  • Prepare a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones, workstreams & activities. Manage delivery of the project according to this plan.
  • Track project and provide regular reports on project status to project team and key stakeholders.
  • Manage and adjust for any changes in project scope, schedule and/or budget, in accordance with approved authorities and change processes.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • University degree preferably in Computer Engineering / IT, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences or similar qualification.
  • 3+ years of experience in delivering IT or digital projects preferably in Financial Services or a regulated industry.
  • Successful coordination of project deliverables based on an understanding of the customer needs.
  • Ability to manage project costs and budgets to agreed baselines.
  • Demonstrated personal organizational skills and ability to coordinate the efforts of others involved in the delivery of projects, including negotiating deadlines and commitments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work globally across businesses and international cultures to deliver results.
  • Preferably, you are already ITIL, Scrum or PMI certified or have the readiness to pursue one with our support.
  • Recognized as proactive and with high problem-solving competence.
