Position: Project Manager Location: UK Based with International Travel Salary: £70,000-£80,000 + Benefits
Project Manager required for a growing international power and energy business delivering complex power generation and infrastructure projects. This role will take day-to-day ownership of projects from contract award through engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.
The successful candidate will have strong technical project management experience, ideally within power generation, energy, EPC, electrical infrastructure or industrial construction, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage projects safely, on programme and within budget.
Project Manager Job Overview
- Take full ownership of assigned projects from award to completion
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation and commissioning
- Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, risks and reporting
- Coordinate technical interfaces across mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Manage subcontractors, OEMs, suppliers and site teams
- Oversee site mobilisation, installation, testing and commissioning
- Maintain strong control of project costs, variations and commercial matters
- Act as the day-to-day contact for customers throughout project delivery
- Ensure technical documentation and project handover requirements are completed
- Work closely with Commercial, Procurement, Finance and Engineering teams
Project Manager Job Requirements
- Proven Project Management experience within power generation, energy, EPC, electrical infrastructure or industrial construction
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and installation activities
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, P&IDs and electrical documentation
- Experience managing subcontractors, OEMs and equipment suppliers
- Strong understanding of project programmes, cost control, risk and contracts
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in demanding project environments
- Experience with generators, CHP, switchgear, transformers or associated power systems advantageous
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
