Job summary

ORONA in Scotland is seeking a Project Manager to oversee installation contracts from sales handover to completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and profitability. You will lead project teams, manage direct and subcontract labour, and maintain client relationships. A Prince2 qualification would be advantageous.

You will adapt leadership style to train colleagues and share experience, with a focus on delivering complex lift projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple installation projects of various sizes and revenue.
  • Managing direct and subcontract labour, materials and the finances of the project from start to completion.
  • Ensuring final testing, commissioning and handover are completed in line with client timescales.
  • Maintaining customer relationships and informing all parties at key project stages.
  • Supervising direct reports and timely generation of management reports on progress and forecasts.
  • Using contractual awareness to minimise company risk and maximise revenue via variations.

Job description

The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Scotland team.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager or Contracts Manager with a proven background in the lift industry. Previous experience managing complex and diverse lift projects is essential.

You will be responsible for overseeing installation contracts from sales handover through to project completion, with overall responsibility for project performance, delivery, and profitability. You will combine strong project management and leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to budget.

Experience within the lift industry is essential, along with a strong understanding of lift installation projects, processes, and requirements. You should be conversant with General Arrangement drawings and able to plan, prioritise, organise, and assign tasks effectively.

You will also be expected to adapt your management style to effectively lead teams, train colleagues, and pass on your knowledge and experience.

A PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing multiple installation projects of various sizes and revenue
  • Managing direct and subcontract labour, materials and the finances of the project from start to completion
  • Ensuring final testing, commissioning and handover are completed in line with timescales set by the client
  • Maintaining customer relationships ensuring that targets and timescales are achieved and that all parties involved in the project are fully informed at key stages of the process
  • Supervising your direct reports and dealing with any issues that arise, whilst ensuring that accurate management reportson company bespoke systems regarding job progress, forecasts etc are completed diligently and in a timely manner.
  • Using contractual awareness to ensure the company's risk is minimised and to ensure that revenue is maximised via additional variation works on each project.
Requirements
  • Must have an understanding of costing (preferably lift installation) contracts and variations with due regard for all variables.
  • Needs to have a good network of contacts to source and negotiate good rates with quality sub-contractors.
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Right to Work in the UK (mandatory)
