Job summary

Kier Group in Coatbridge is seeking a Project Manager to lead two extensions to existing primary schools in South Lanarkshire, with a project value of around £18M. You will provide project leadership, ensuring safe and timely delivery through effective management of people, resources and relationships.

The role requires proven delivery experience on high-value projects in main contracting, with ability to manage all phases from tender to practical completion and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-value projects within main contracting.
• Ability to manage projects through tender input, pre-construction to practical completion.
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce leadership-level reports.
• Relevant construction qualification (HND/Degree or equivalent). SMSTS, CSCS Card, and full driving licence.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality.

Job description

We're looking for a Project Manager to join our team based in Coatbridge.

Location: East Kilbride, Hamilton - South Lanarkshire
Hours: 42.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As Project Manager, you'll oversee two extensions to existing primary schools in South Lanarkshire, with a total construction value of circa £18M. You'll provide project leadership, ensuring safe and timely delivery through effective management of people, resources, and relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a significant project while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

What will you be responsible for?

Your day to day will include:

• Leading and overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects, achieving operational and commercial goals on time and on budget
• Managing and monitoring subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with programme demands and tracking adherence against programme and commercial targets
• Taking overall responsibility for implementing Kier's health, safety and environmental policies, ensuring all team members and subcontractors comply
• Acting as the client point of contact, developing excellent working relationships with representatives from various external bodies
• Mentoring and line managing site teams, sharing knowledge and experience to support their development
