Job summary

Bridges - Trusted Intelligent Engineering Partner is seeking a Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary projects across the South West region. Expect hybrid working with office, site, and client visits, plus travel for reviews.

You will manage schedules, budgets and safety, coordinating staff and subcontractors to deliver high-value schemes. Essential experience includes M&E/MEICA project delivery, water industry exposure, and NEC contract familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Proven project management experience in industrial M&E/MEICA environments.
  • Experience on water industry projects (water/wastewater) preferred.
  • Strong planning, monitoring, and control skills.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, execution and delivery from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee health and safety, RAMS, and site visits.
  • Manage project documentation and expenditure reporting monthly.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Mitigate environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices.

Role purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work in our South West team, ideally based within the South West Water region.

With a hybrid working model, from the South West region with a mixture of office/site/home working along with travel for project reviews and visit client sites regularly.

Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

Role Overview

As a Project Manager at Bridges, you will oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects from inception to completion. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Your leadership will be pivotal in coordinating resources, managing timelines, and navigating challenges to achieve outstanding results.

The Role
  • Contracted to 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday
  • Management of staff and subcontractors working on assigned projects
  • Taking responsibility for the health & safety of self and all under your control, completion of RAMS
  • Creation and management of the appropriate Project Documentation and control of project expenditure within a monthly project reporting structure
  • Close liaison and management of the Client and other stakeholders as appropriate
  • Proactively manage the impact on and protection of the environment
Requirements
Essential
  • Proven project management experience in an industrial M&E / MEICA environment
  • Experience in managing Engineering projects ideally within the water industry (water and/or wastewater process projects)
  • Strong understanding of project planning, monitoring, and control methodologies
  • Proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and company-specific procedures
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working with NEC suite of contracts
Desirable
  • Relevant City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in a technical/trade discipline
  • Valid SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely certification
