Job summary

Bridges Electrical Engineers Ltd is seeking a Project Manager to lead Thames Water framework projects from our Maidstone office. The role involves hybrid working with weekly office visits and regular client site travel.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure safety and governance across multiple projects. Ideal candidates have CDM awareness, industry qualifications, and a proven track record in water/MEICA or civils project delivery.

  • CDM awareness with SSSTS/SMSTS preferred.
  • CSCS card held.
  • Industry-based qualifications (NVQ/CG) required or desirable.
  • Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage staff and subcontractors across assigned projects.
  • Ensure health, safety and RAMS are completed; monitor budgets and monthly reporting.
  • Maintain close liaison with clients and stakeholders; drive project governance and commercial controls.

Role purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work on our Thames Water framework, reporting to our Maidstone office.

With a hybrid working model, ideally you would be willing to commute to the Maidstone office once or twice weekly. You will be expected to travel to HQ at least once a month for project reviews and visit client sites regularly.

Role overview

As a Project Manager at Bridges, you will oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects from inception to completion. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Your leadership will be pivotal in coordinating resources, managing timelines, and navigating challenges to achieve outstanding results.

The Role
  • Contracted to 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Management of staff and subcontractors working on assigned projects
  • Taking responsibility for the health & safety of self and all under your control, completion of RAMS.
  • Creation and management of the appropriate Project Documentation and control of project expenditure within a monthly project reporting structure
  • Close liaison and management of the Client and other stakeholders as appropriate
  • Proactively manage the impact on and protection of the environment.
Essential
  • CDM Awareness (ideally SSSTS or SMSTS)
  • CSCS card
  • Industry Based qualifications (NVQ/C&G)
  • Driving licence
  • Industrial engineering experience – ie water industry, MEICA, civils
  • Experience in the design and delivery of projects
  • Experience in managing CDM sites and working on CDM sites
  • Capable of effectively managing more than one project at any one time, depending on complexity
  • Capable of effectively managing teams, including employees and subcontractors
  • Understanding of project governance procedures and commercial aspects of projects
  • Sound knowledge of H&S legislation and regulations
Desirable
  • HNC / HND level qualifications
  • Site experience is essential, currently or previously in a supervisory site role or Project engineer role.
  • Southern Water Experience is desirable but not essential.
