Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is recruiting for a lead role to manage civil engineering works in a live port environment in Kent. You will oversee end-to-end delivery across marine and landside scopes, developing programmes, coordinating design approvals and managing subcontractors.

The role requires experience in complex operational settings, strong programme control, and a solid grasp of UK health and safety regulations, including CDM 2015. Travel between project locations is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering civil engineering or construction projects in complex operational environments (ports, infrastructure).
  • Proven ability to manage programme, sequencing and delivery under constraints.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety regulations, including CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of construction and engineering works across marine and landside scopes.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, sequencing and delivery plans, including lookaheads and risk mitigation.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, mobilisation and performance management.
  • Coordinate design management, approvals and technical assurance to ensure compliant delivery.
  • Drive site team performance, supporting development and maintaining high standards of delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and all health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain quality assurance processes, documentation and successful commissioning and handover.

Requirements
  • Experience delivering civil engineering or construction projects in complex operational environments (e.g. ports, infrastructure, utilities)
  • Proven ability to manage programme, sequencing and delivery under constraints
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety regulations, including CDM 2015
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary works and subcontractor interfaces
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and contract administration capability
Desirable
  • Marine or port environment project experience
  • Temporary Works / lifting operations or First Aid qualifications
  • Relevant degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience in civil engineering or construction
