Qualifications

  • Five years' project experience in marine or civil engineering, dockyard experience preferred.
  • Proven PM experience delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, professional with staff, managers, suppliers and customers.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to coordinate multiple project elements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, diagrams and specifications.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and work as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS and SC clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage marine infrastructure projects, supervising staff and subcontractors to meet quality, safety, timekeeping and conduct standards.
  • Prepare detailed project plans and monitor hours, materials, and subcontracted activities to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Plan and monitor programmes, costs, labour, materials and equipment for smooth workflow and uninterrupted delivery.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management, flagging risks, delays or issues affecting cost, safety, programme or completion.
  • Purchase and manage consumables, plant and materials to ensure continuity.
  • Liaise with customers to understand and meet project requirements throughout lifecycle.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation across all site locations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to work on a high profile marine infrastructure framework. The role offers a diverse workload within a challenging marine environment, alongside opportunities for further training and professional development.

You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally, on time, and within budget, while supporting a strong, safety focused and high quality operational culture.

Purpose of the Job

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising marine infrastructure projects and the work of production staff and subcontractors. This includes planning, monitoring, and delivering all elements of the project, ensuring the uninterrupted provision of labour, materials, equipment, and services.

The role ensures compliance with all company procedures and legal regulations, completion of all required documentation, and the maintenance of accurate daily records of work undertaken on site.

Principal Duties
  • Manage marine infrastructure projects as directed, supervising and monitoring production staff and subcontractors to ensure required standards of quality, safety, timekeeping, and conduct are met.
  • Prepare detailed project plans and monitor worked hours, materials, consumables, equipment usage, and subcontracted activities against the project scope to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
  • Plan and monitor project programmes, costs, labour, materials, and equipment to maintain smooth workflow and uninterrupted delivery.
  • Provide regular project progress reports to senior management, clearly communicating any risks, delays, or issues impacting cost, safety, programme, or completion.
  • Purchase and manage consumables, plant, and materials required to support projects, ensuring continuity without delay.
  • Liaise regularly with customers to ensure their needs, expectations, and project requirements are understood and met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation across all site locations.
  • Travel to customer sites to undertake surveys and support the quotation process when required.
  • Prepare, implement, and brief all required SHE and quality documentation prior to the commencement of works, ensuring safe systems of work are applied at all times.
  • Ensure all Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) are completed, retained, and compiled into final quality packs upon project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Carry out any additional duties commensurate with the role, supporting the wider objectives of the company.
Qualifications & Experience Required
  • A minimum of five years' project experience within the marine or civil engineering industry, with dockyard experience highly desirable.
  • Proven project management experience delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with staff, managers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience planning and coordinating multiple project elements.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematic manuals, diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS and SC clearance.
