Job summary

Cavendish (Recruitment) Professionals Ltd is recruiting a Project Manager for a London-based heavy civils contractor. You will lead delivery of RC Frame and Groundworks, manage pre-construction through handover, and drive programme, cost, and quality across the job.

You will coordinate engineers, site managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring safety, compliance, and timely reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Experience as Project Manager within RC Frame & Groundworks sector.
• Delivery of projects valued between 3m and 15m+.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, planning and resource management.
• Solid knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Ability to build relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project planning software.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• SMSTS Certificate.
• CSCS Black Card or equivalent management CSCS card.
• First Aid at Work Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a RC Frame and Groundworks project.
• Manage the project from pre-construction through to handover.
• Develop, monitor and manage project programmes, ensuring milestones are achieved.
• Lead site teams, including engineers, site managers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and implement corrective actions.
• Work with the commercial team to manage costs, variations and contractual matters.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Review and approve RAMS, construction methodologies and site documentation.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality and safety.
• Prepare and submit project reports to senior management.
