Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space in Portsmouth invites a Project Manager to drive end-to-end development of secure communications infrastructure and software, reporting to the programme team and delivering projects within the PMI lifecycle.

You will lead agile software development initiatives, apply PM practices in a dynamic R&D setting, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements while maintaining compliance with security and defence standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with full project lifecycle from initiation to close.
• Strong technical background in telecommunications or satellite systems, preferably defence-related.
• Experience in defence applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing of complex secure comms projects.
• Manage projects in accordance with Airbus lifecycle standards and PMI guidance.
• Apply PM methods effectively within a dynamic R&D environment.
• Steer teams through changing landscapes to ensure successful delivery.

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an enthusiastic, technically knowledgeable Project Manager to join our team in Portsmouth to drive the end-to-end development of next-generation, secure communications infrastructure and software. Reporting directly to the Programme, managing AGILE software development projects. Familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI) lifecycle guidance, which forms the basis of Airbus standards. ABOUT YOU

• Experienced with full project lifecycle management-from initial proposal through to final customer acceptance.
• Strong technical background in telecommunications or satellite communications systems, software, or equipment development (preferably for defence applications).
• Relevant practical experience, condition and meets the minimum criteria of the role (as set out in the job advert).
