This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive construction-focused Project Manager who has hands-on experience delivering projects through the build and installation phase. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HV infrastructure, substations, utilities or civil engineering environments and will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Team & Contractor Management
  • Lead site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Chair project meetings and progress reviews.
  • Provide technical support and resolution to site-based challenges.
  • Drive strong project performance and team accountability.
Financial Management
  • Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor expenditure and manage variations and change control processes.
  • Review and approve procurement requirements and subcontractor payments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial objectives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and company procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.
  • Review and implement RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • BS 7671
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • CDM Regulations
Technical & Design Coordination
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and engineering submissions.
  • Liaise with designers, consultants and clients regarding technical matters.
  • Ensure installations are delivered to required quality and industry standards.
  • Support the successful completion and handover of projects.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
  • Produce regular project reports for clients and senior management.
  • Attend client meetings and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants and supply chain partners.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5-10+ years' experience delivering electrical, utilities, civil engineering or construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing live construction and installation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4).
  • Experience working within utility, infrastructure or civil engineering environments.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation.
  • Strong commercial awareness with budget and cost management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver under pressure.
Desirable Experience
  • High Voltage (HV) project experience, particularly within:
  • Substations
  • Electrical infrastructure projects
  • Distribution networks
  • Experience delivering projects within the 11kV to 33kV range.
  • Professional membership with organisations such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or similar industry bodies.
What's On Offer?
  • Salary of £60,000 - £70,000
  • £5,000 Car Allowance
  • Opportunity to join a growing and successful infrastructure business
  • Exposure to major utility and network projects
  • Clear progression opportunities into higher voltage projects, including 132kV and above
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment
Ideal Backgrounds

Candidates may currently be working for utility contractors, infrastructure providers, ICPs (Independent Connection Providers), civil engineering contractors or electrical engineering businesses delivering HV network and substation projects.
