Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers, in partnership with a market-leading Defence and Aerospace client, seeks a Project Management Business Partner with proven PM experience in complex organisations. You will contribute to Value Stream Management initiatives and drive PM governance across multiple functions.

Role involves facilitating day-to-day project delivery, promoting best practices, and delivering KPIs through advanced tools such as PALANTIR, SkyWise, and QlikSense.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven PM experience in a complex organisation.
• Background across at least two functions (e.g., Procurement, Engineering, ICT, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations).
• Knowledge of Aircraft production / Aircraft engineering.
• Experience with Agile PM methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
• Experience in stakeholder management across multiple functions.
• Knowledge of relevant European legislation (e.g., REACH).

Responsibilities

• Ensure VSM projects have PM governance and practices applied.
• Collaborate with VSM project leaders on day-to-day activities.
• Promote best-practice project management within VSM teams.
• Shape methods and tools to PM standards for project needs.
• Support effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Promote Agile WoW and act as Scrum Master when needed.
• Establish end-to-end project plans and manage changes.
• Identify Earned Value Management milestones and critical paths.
• Track performance against plans throughout the lifecycle.
• Deliver KPIs and dashboards for performance management.
• Implement smart digital solutions for automated reporting and planning.
• Work with PALANTIR tools to create data sets and analyses.

As the Project Management Business Partner, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Ensuring Value Stream Management (VSM) projects are supported with a strong Project Management Expertise and that appropriate Project & Programme Management structure, governance, and practices are applied
• Working with the VSM project leaders & project organisation on a day-to-day basis
• Raising the understanding and acceptance of best practice project management within the VSM teams
• Shaping methods and tools in accordance with PM standards to the needs of the project/activity
• Supporting efficient communication and stakeholder management, ensuring that activities are aligned with interfacing projects and operations
• Promoting Agile WoW and acting as Scrum Master for project activities where needed
• Establishing E2E project plans and controlling all changes versus the initial baseline
• Identifying associated Earned Value Management (EVM) milestones and project critical paths
• Tracking performance versus plan throughout the project lifecycle
• Analysing project information to anticipate deviations from target and proposing preventive/corrective actions to support decision making
• Driving the Risk & Opportunity Management process in line with the existing R&OM plan
• Jointly working with Finance to compare cost incurred and time spent for progress achieved against current planning
• Defining and delivering relevant KPls & dashboards for effective performance management
• Preparing and supporting project management reviews (PRM, Operational meetings etc.)
• Implementing smart digital solutions within the VSM for automated reporting, KPI generation, and planning
• Working with PALANTIR tools (SkyWise) to create required data sets and analyses
• Using advanced business tools (e.g. PALANTIR, G-Suite, Gemini (AI), QlikSense, KPI Factory, SAP, Unified Planning) to increase transparency, minimise manual operations and to enable faster and better decision making.
• Strong facilitation skills for leading, coaching, motivating & enabling the team
• Data management and visualisation skills including Palantir tools
• Educated to Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business administration or other
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management in a complex organisation
• Background in at least 2 functions (e.g. Procurement, Engineering, ICT, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations) in Project and Programme Management roles
• Good working knowledge and experience of Aircraft production / Aircraft engineering
• Experience of working with suppliers
• Knowledge of relevant European legislation (e.g. REACH) substance regulations
• Knowledge and experience in Agile PM methodologies (Scrum, SAFe ...)
• Experience in stakeholder management, ability to engage skills of different functions
