Job summary

Cardo Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Project Lead to coordinate multiple workstreams for a major social housing retrofit and recladding programme. You will steer planning, governance and stakeholder engagement to meet objectives on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and robust budgeting across EWI, roofing, fire safety and refurbishment works, including occupied environments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing projects valued in excess of £10 million.
• Strong background in external envelope, recladding or façade replacement programmes.
• Experience delivering works within occupied residential environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing Contracts Managers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and project management principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of a large-scale social housing retrofit and recladding project from pre-construction through to completion.
• Provide leadership and direction to Contracts Managers and project delivery teams, ensuring high performance and accountability.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Manage the overall project programme, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain delivery milestones.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, residents and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee the delivery of external wall insulation (EWI), roofing, fire safety, window replacement and associated refurbishment works.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, specifications, statutory regulations and company procedures.
• Lead project planning, resource allocation and operational coordination across multiple workstreams.
• Drive compliance with the Building Safety Act, Gateway requirements, CDM Regulations and all relevant health and safety legislation.
• Monitor project performance through regular reporting on programme, quality, commercial performance and risk.
• Work closely with Commercial Managers to manage budgets, forecasts, change control and project profitability.
• Review subcontractor performance, ensuring works are completed to agreed standards and programme requirements.
• Ensure robust quality assurance processes are implemented and all defects are effectively managed and resolved.

Role Overview:

To lead and coordinate multiple project workstreams, ensuring the successful delivery ofbusiness objectives through effective planning, governance, and stakeholdermanagement.

The role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with established processes and standards, and ensuring accurate data management across systems and reporting platforms.

The Project Lead will oversee supply chain performance, manage the transfer and validation of data from legacy spreadsheets into business systems, and ensurethe accuracy, integrity, and availability of project information.

A key aspect of the role is maintaining robust budgetary control, providing accurate forecasting, monitoring financial performance, and proactively managing risks to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical capability, and a continuous improvementmindset to optimise processes, enhance data accuracy, and deliver measurablebusiness value across all assigned projects.

You Will Need:

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience delivering projects under the Building Safety Act.
• Experience of Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 processes.
• Knowledge of PAS 2030/2035 retrofit standards.
• Experience working with Local Authorities or Registered Social Landlords.
• Understanding of social value commitments and resident engagement.
• Experience of MMC and modern construction techniques.
