Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Project Engineer for our Treatment Solutions team. You will work on proposals from enquiry through FEED to tender, liaising with Engineering, Design, Commercial and Delivery teams across the UK.

You will help secure new business with technically robust and commercially viable solutions, contributing to modular treatment technologies and innovative products for the water industry.

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline (e.g. Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental).
• Strong technical engineering knowledge with interfaces across mechanical, electrical and civil.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to prepare pricing and procurement information.
• Knowledge of design codes, standards, regulations and best practices.
• Understanding of project programmes, schedules and sequencing of activities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with practical engineering solutions.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and MS Project.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review client enquiries and tender docs to develop technically compliant proposals.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, material take-offs and pricing schedules.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for quotations against specs.
• Develop FEED deliverables: process calculations, specs, layouts and PFDs.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to establish programmes and identify risks.
• Apply modular first approach to incorporate standardised designs and offsite manufacture.
• Attend client meetings and site surveys, providing technical support.
• Support development of products, pilots and trials for innovation.
