Job Title: Project Engineer
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing project delivery, ensuring site works are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing subcontractors, liaising with the supply chain, and supporting the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze contract documents, project plans, and specifications, providing necessary comments.
- Coordinate with departments, Project Engineers/Managers, and stakeholders to meet project milestones.
- Assist in scheduling and conducting project review meetings, focusing on contract terms, scope, and timelines.
- Report on project status, issues, and solutions to the Project Manager.
- Communicate with customers and stakeholders to ensure project progress and resolve issues.
Project Management Support:
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Monitor contract variations and report changes to the Project Manager.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain documentation.
- Manage project budgets, costs, and forecasts.
- Support warranty management and mitigate warranty claims.
- Supervise subcontractors and supply chain teams, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
- Assist in developing the Construction Phase Plan.
- Oversee site mobilization and conduct site inductions.
- Review and ensure adherence to RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
- Manage logistics and site operations to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Enforce compliance with CDM regulations and safety rules.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in engineering or project management, especially in construction or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with NEC contract conditions.
- CSR Gold Card and First Aid at Work certification.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills with technical, commercial, and client stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail and compliance.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (advantageous).
- Ability to work within a small, multidisciplinary team.
- CAD experience (advantageous but not essential).
Travel & Flexibility:
- Travel within Northern Ireland for site visits.
- Occasional overnight stays with prior planning.
- Mix of office and on-site work; accommodations available for disabilities.
