Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Project Engineer Rail Civils on a contract basis in Manchester to deliver civil engineering technical excellence within an NW+C framework. The role focuses on ensuring technical compliance, design integration, and effective liaison with clients and sub-contractors.

You will build on civil engineering experience, lead design reviews, manage risks, and support tender activities. Chartered status (MICE) or progress towards it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil Engineer or working towards MICE.
• Five years of relevant experience in civil works delivery.
• Proven experience managing design reviews and delivery to meet client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure civil engineering on allocated contracts is technically compliant with Group, client and company standards.
• Act as civil engineering technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors to resolve assurance issues.
• Ensure integration of design, installation and testing to meet client specifications and maintain technical integrity.
• Carry out project risk assessments and assist Tendering in preparation of Tenders.
• Attend engineering reviews as required for allocated contracts.

I am looking for an engineer with a good Rail Civils background, to deliver civil engineering technical excellence for an engineering framework on NW+C.

Role

You will have previous experience working in a similar role within programmes from a Civil technical aspect. This role would suit an existing or previous engineer within buildings and civils

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure the civil engineering on allocated company contracts are technically compliant with the relevant Group, client & company standards.
• Act as the civil engineering technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve assurance issues.
• Ensure integration of design, installation and testing and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity.
• Carry out project risk assessments. Assist the Tendering department in the preparation of Tenders.
• Attend engineering reviews as required for allocated contracts.

Essential requirements

• Be a chartered civil engineer (MICE) or working towards it.
• Have five years relevant experience..
• Proven experience of managing and controlling the planning, design reviews to delivery of civil works

Desirable

• Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have a degree in a relevant discipline such as rail Engineering.
