Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Service group, supporting HV, switchgear and transformer projects across the UK and Europe. You will lead technical and engineering activities, coordinating with customers and suppliers to deliver safe, high-quality solutions.

The role involves site visits, RAMS reviews, and collaboration with Hitachi Energy's global experts. Occasional travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering (HNC/HND/degree or equivalent).
• Experience delivering engineering projects in power systems, utilities, or related environments.
• Strong understanding of HV equipment, switchgear, transformers, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating engineering activities across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and engineering aspects of projects from concept to handover.
• Deliver high-quality engineering solutions meeting customer requirements and standards.
• Drive customer satisfaction through proactive technical leadership and project execution.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and project meetings with stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance across the business, including RAMS, tests, installation methods, and tender docs.
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to support delivery and identify improvements.
• Translate customer specifications into effective engineering solutions.
• Identify and manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
