Metalis Recruitment Group is seeking a Project Engineer in Nottingham to join a fabrications-focused business. You will participate in pre-contract reviews, establish manufacturing routings and support projects through lifecycle.

The role requires experience in fabrications within regulated environments, ability to read complex drawings, and strong communication skills. Competitive salary £45–£50k, 33 days holiday and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Project engineering experience within a fabrications business in a regulated industry.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience defining methods of manufacture for complex products and assemblies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• CAD experience in a relevant software package would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-contract and internal contract reviews, ensuring all customer requirements are fully captured
• Establish methods of manufacture and translate these into effective manufacturing routings
• Define material, subcontract and other non-manufacturing requirements
• Create manufacturing route cards, stage drawings, procedures and other manufacturing aids
• Provide technical support to all business areas throughout the life of each project
• Monitor right-first-time performance, costs and delivery on an ongoing basis
• Serve as the single point of contact with the customer for all technical and quality matters
• Coordinate communication across business functions to meet delivery commitments
• Attend customer and supplier site visits as required
