Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a Fabrications Project Engineer in Alfreton to lead projects from concept to completion within our modern fabrication facilities, focusing on welding high-integrity fabrications in carbon and stainless steels.

You will manage manufacturing routes, liaise with internal teams and external resources, and ensure delivery on time and within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fabrication processes - welding and fabrication.
• Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from start to finish ensuring on-time delivery.
• Create manufacturing route cards and determine best manufacturing methods.
• Liaise with internal departments and external resources as needed.
• Deliver projects within budget and scope.

Are you looking for a Projects focused role - this will be office focused, working closely with the shop floor, however managing projects from concept to completion taking ownership of the part through the manufacturing process and successful delivery to the customer.

• Role: Fabrications project engineer
• Location: Alfreton
• Salary: Up to £52,000
• Hours: Monday to Thursday - 7:30am-4:30pm and Fridays 7:30am-2pm
• Contracted hours: 40 per week
• Holidays: 33 days holiday
• Xmas shut down
• 7.5% pension
• x4 salary death in service

Overview:

We now require an additional Project Engineer to join the team. Working with clean, modern purpose built manufacturing facilities in the fabrication department that weld complex, high integrity fabrications in a range of materials such as carbon and stainless steels varying from 3mm to 100mm.

As the Project Engineer you will be working in a technical role managing projects for the customer from start to finish, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.

You will create manufacturing route cards to ensure the best methods to manufacture liaising with internal departments whilst also managing any external resources required for the project.

Ideal candidate:

• Knowledge of Fabrication processes - welding and fabrication
• Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.

• Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
• Commutable from, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
