Job summary

SP Energy Networks is hiring a Project Engineer to deliver major capital investment and customer connection projects across the SP Manweb licence area. You will oversee the full delivery lifecycle from development through handover, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and value.

Role requires strong governance, cost forecasting and risk management, with experience in regulated infrastructure and NEC/contract management. The role offers career progression within a large energy group.

Qualifications

• Minimum Criteria: engineering/construction/project management background.
• Experience managing construction or infrastructure projects, preferably electricity transmission or regulated infra.
• Knowledge of project planning and reporting systems (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams across design, engineering, operations, and commercial functions.
• Manage project governance, programme control, budgeting and reporting to ensure outputs meet safety, cost and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee contract and commercial management with appointed contractors and service partners.
• Identify risks and drive opportunities to maximise capital efficiency and long‑term value.
