Leicester. Some site visits but not all the time. Office based mainly. £40,000-£50,000 salary guideline, plus company car and pension. Permanent, daytime hours, Monday to Friday. Early finish on Fridays.

Project Engineer responsible for planning factory installation engineering projects. Materials handling experience (e.g., conveyors, blowers, silos, hoppers, bulk powder, feed mills, recycling plants, bulk bagging equipment, factory equipment fabrications, industrial assemblies) is beneficial. Candidates with a background as a Project Engineer, Contracts Manager, or similar in installation and commissioning, or a design engineer with customer site experience seeking the next step into a Project Engineer or Contract Manager role, are encouraged to apply.

As a Project Engineer, you’ll prepare everything needed before the site installation team arrives at the customer’s factory. Your responsibilities include final site checks, coordinating deliveries, confirming schedules, and ensuring all details are in place for a successful installation. You will act as a key point of contact for the customer during the planning phase, double-checking designs, expectations, and timescales.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in project coordination, site planning, or contracts management.
• Background in industrial or materials handling sectors is a plus.
• Ability to make and record accurate on-site measurements and read basic engineering drawings.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).

Responsibilities:

1. Visit customer sites to carry out final measurements and assess site readiness.
2. Check access routes, workspace clearance, and safety requirements.
3. Confirm installation dates with customers and internal teams.
4. Ensure all equipment, parts, and assemblies are ready for delivery.
5. Communicate with suppliers and colleagues to keep everything on track.
6. Identify and resolve potential issues before installation begins.
7. Act as the main point of contact for customers during the planning phase.

This is a small, friendly team that works well together, with many team members highly experienced.
