Job description

Location: Leicester. Some site visits but mainly office-based.

Salary: £40,000-£50,000, plus company car and pension.

Type: Permanent, daytime Monday to Friday with an earlier finish on Fridays.

Role: Project Engineer responsible for planning factory installation projects. Experience in materials handling (conveyors, blowers, silos, hoppers, bulk powder, feed mills, recycling plants, bulk bagging equipment, factory equipment fabrications, industrial assemblies) is advantageous. Suitable backgrounds include Project Engineers, Contracts Managers, or design engineers with customer site experience seeking career progression.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare all necessary arrangements before site installation, including final site checks, coordinating deliveries, and confirming schedules.
• Act as a primary contact for customers during the planning phase, ensuring designs, expectations, and timescales are aligned.
• Conduct site visits for measurements and site readiness assessments, checking access, workspace, and safety compliance.
• Confirm installation dates with customers and internal teams.
• Ensure readiness of equipment, parts, and assemblies for delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers and colleagues to maintain schedule integrity.
• Identify and resolve potential issues prior to installation.

Requirements:

• Experience in project coordination, site planning, or contracts management.
• Background in industrial or materials handling sectors is a plus.
• Ability to record accurate on-site measurements and interpret basic engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Full UK driving license (essential).
