Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Investment Delivery Directorate. You will prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor engineering projects in Civils or MEICA, working closely with clients and project managers.

The role requires Chartered or working toward CEng, a degree in engineering, and a UK driving licence, with strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC contracts. Excellent communication and time management are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC or HND in an engineering discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards CEng.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in water distribution or similar.
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 and its application to projects.
  • Understanding of NEC contracts and their application.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and represent them in the field.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Assign responsibilities and support the project team.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project managers and other participants to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders about their needs and goals for the project.
