Job description

Seize this thrilling opportunity to join Thames Water's vibrant team that is leading capital projects! As a Project Engineer, you won't just be joining us during an exciting phase—you'll be at the forefront of transforming and modernising our wastewater networks, including assets crossing the railway, from preventing sewer flooding and reducing spills into the river to upgrading a historic network that keeps London flowing.

What you’ll be doing as a Project Engineer
  1. Working with a senior engineer to oversee the design development of several wastewater network projects by engineers and consultants from the initial concept design and feasibility stage to contract award.
  2. Identify, analyse, mitigate project risks and realise opportunities to enable scope definition and robust pricing by contractors.
  3. Ensure that contractors and any design changes undertake the detailed design during construction.
  4. Be responsible for providing the Project Teams with the support they need during the commissioning and handover of assets.
  5. Undertake design reviews, ensuring robust and safe solutions whilst meeting business and operational requirements.
  6. Work with a senior engineer to act as the key contact for the role of CDM Designer or Principal Designer during the initial stages of design.
  7. Deliver our zero-compromise health and safety attitude to all contractors working on your project.

Hybrid – Maple Lodge, we are very flexible on remote and hybrid working for this role, so please apply if you are looking for a more remote role than a hybrid.

36 hours - Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate must drive and have a car, but please do apply if you don't, as we are open to those without.

What you should bring to the role
  1. Have a background in Engineering and hold an engineering degree.
  2. Be incorporated or working towards incorporated status with a relevant professional organisation.
  3. Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. This includes internal colleagues, site employees and external contractors.
  4. Understanding the principles of project delivery in process industries.
  5. Understanding of Health & Safety in the Construction Industry.

  1. Competitive salary from £50,000 - 60,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
