Job description

Seize this thrilling opportunity to join Thames Water's vibrant team leading capital projects! As a Senior Engineer, you will be at the forefront of transforming and modernising our wastewater networks, from preventing sewer flooding and reducing spills into the river to upgrading a historic network that keeps London flowing.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Engineer

• Oversee the design development of wastewater network projects from concept to contract award.
• Identify, analyse, and mitigate project risks, and enable scope definition and robust pricing.
• Ensure detailed design is undertaken by contractors and manage design changes during construction.
• Support project teams during commissioning and asset handover.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure safety and operational requirements are met.
• Act as the key contact for CDM Designer or Principal Designer roles during initial design stages.
• Contribute to and improve Technical Asset Standards.

Work is hybrid at Maple Lodge, requiring presence in the office or on-site twice a week. The role is 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate must have a driver’s license and access to a car, but applications are welcome without a car.

What you should bring to the role

• A Civil Engineering HNC, degree, or master's in a related discipline.
• Chartered engineer or nearing chartership with a relevant professional body.
• Experience in wastewater network design and rehabilitation.
• Understanding of project delivery principles and health & safety in construction.
• Knowledge of industrial process decisions within engineering.
