Job summary

Freudenberg Flow Technologies Ltd. in Port Talbot is seeking a Project Engineer to support design reviews, specification reviews, and QA across onshore and offshore projects.

You will liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors, monitor manufacturing progress, create test procedures, risk assessments and inspection plans, and provide field service support to clients.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC/HND level or technical apprenticeship related to engineering.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with FFL Connector product lines or similar tech.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design reviews and FMEA meetings.
  • Review technical specifications and ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors for technical support.
  • Monitor manufacturing progress in-house and at sub-contractors.
  • Create test procedures and coordinate inspections.
  • Provide field service support to clients on delivered projects.
  • Carry out risk assessments and test permits.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and supervise assembly and testing activities.
  • Carry out onsite machining and general repairs.

Project Engineer
Responsibilities
  • Participating in Design Reviews and design & process failure mode effects analysis meetings
  • Technical specification review and resolution
  • Participate in lessons learned reviews
  • Liaise with suppliers/sub-contractors providing technical assistance/guidance/ technical documentation is in place
  • Supplier/Sub-contractor visits. E.g., Kick off Meetings, provide technical support
  • Review certification from suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Monitor manufacturing progress in-house and at sub-contractors
  • Create Test Procedures and complete other technical documents Coordinate and Support 3rd party inspections in line with agreed Inspection & Test Plans
  • Create Risk Assessments and Test Permits for Assembly and Testing activities
  • Carry out Toolbox Talks with assembly and test personnel
  • Supervise and support assembly and test activities
  • Produce test reports and coordinate 3rd party sign-off
  • Conduct Safety Quest audits
  • Monitor condition of test equipment & tooling and coordinate maintenance and replacements
  • Provide Field Service support to clients on delivered projects e.g., inspection, machining, testing
  • both onshore and offshore
  • Dimensional checks during spool fabrication, welding and PWHT
  • Seal Ring Inspections
  • Carry out onsite machining repairs
  • General seat repairs/polishing
Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC/HND Level, technical apprenticeship or suitable referenced experience in an engineering discipline. E.g., Mechanical Engineering
  • Good communication skills
  • Good inspection skills
  • Familiarity with FFL Connector Product lines or similar technology
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office software packages
  • Ability to make good decisions from remote locations
  • Good Project Management/organisation skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines in high pressure environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well as team
