Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Project Engineer to drive complex engineering projects from concept through build, testing and deployment, ensuring technical feasibility, schedule performance and cost control.

This role blends hands-on engineering with project delivery, coordinating across mechanical, electrical, controls and software teams to solve technical challenges, support prototypes, validate designs and drive products to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design or related engineering field.
• Experience delivering engineering projects in manufacturing, automation, machinery, or product development.
• Strong hands-on engineering and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with testing, validation, commissioning or system integration.
• Ability to read technical drawings, BOMs and engineering docs.
• Able to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering projects through build, integration, testing and commissioning.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls and software teams.
• Support prototype development, new product introduction and manufacturing programmes.
• Lead problem-solving activities and technical investigations.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.

• Support factory and customer acceptance activities where required.

Project Engineer

A growing engineering and technology business is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex engineering projects from concept through to build, testing and deployment.

This is a varied role combining hands‑on engineering with project delivery responsibilities. You'll work across multidisciplinary teams, coordinating activities while remaining actively involved in solving technical challenges, supporting builds and driving projects forward.

Ideal Background

• Degree/HND qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design or a related Engineering discipline

• Experience with testing, validation, commissioning or system integration activities
• Comfortable reading technical drawings, BOMs and engineering documentation
