Project Engineer

Location: Capenhurst

Duration: 12 months

In this contract position, you will support and deliver the Kilns 3&4 Project, ensuring they are technically fit for purpose and meet statutory requirements. Your responsibilities will include project engineering, design review, supplier evaluation, and managing the engineering/design scope for the project.

The Project Engineer manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs, oversees product construction and testing, and ensures project completion is efficient and effective. You will need a broad understanding of various engineering disciplines to deliver high-value, integrated design solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Integrate end-user requirements into design deliverables, including maintenance, operations, and safety considerations.
2. Ensure designs comply with engineering principles, standards, customer contracts, and legislation.
3. Report on project technical scope performance against plans and benefits.
4. Provide technical direction for procurement negotiations.
5. Collaborate with project management and contractors to meet quality and HSE standards.
6. Conduct design and construction reviews according to procedures.
7. Work with project and construction managers to ensure resource availability and schedule adherence.
8. Manage project schedules, budgets, policies, and specifications.
9. Ensure technical team and contractors adhere to quality plans.
10. Pre-qualify and ensure the qualification of contractors and technical staff.
11. Maintain personal SQEP status and comply with standards.
12. Support quality assurance and audits.
13. Manage project close-out activities, including punch lists and handovers.
14. Oversee factory and site acceptance testing.
15. Coordinate procurement and supplier qualification.
16. Facilitate and witness surveys and validation activities.
17. Identify and act upon relied-upon information.
18. Deliver engineering solutions aligned with safety, cost, schedule, and benefits.
19. Define technical deliverables and assist in project estimates and plans.
20. Support project management to ensure project benefits and fitness for purpose.
21. Manage scope changes with project approval.
22. Collaborate with planners and cost estimators for resource and milestone tracking.
23. Review and accept design deliverables as Site Design Authority.
