Job summary

Highland Spring Group is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team and own a portfolio of CAPEX and improvement projects. This hands-on role leads projects from concept through to installation and handover, collaborating with Manufacturing and other teams to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.

You will deliver projects safely, on time and within budget, coordinating design, procurement and site delivery, and driving continuous improvement to ensure assets transition smoothly

Responsibilities

• Lead CAPEX projects from concept through to completion
• Develop project scopes, plans, programmes, budgets and resource requirements
• Support the development and justification of capital investment proposals
• Manage design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover
• Control project expenditure, forecasts, risks, issues and changes
• Coordinate suppliers and contractors, from quotation and technical specification through to site delivery
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to develop practical, maintainable solutions while minimising operational disruption
• Plan and coordinate shutdowns, overhauls and other engineering activity
• Provide clear project updates and influence cross-functional project teams
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure new assets are transitioned into operational ownership

Job description

At Highland Spring Group, we're looking for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team and take ownership of a varied portfolio of engineering, CAPEX and improvement projects.

This is a hands-on project delivery role where you'll manage engineering projects from initial concept and scope development right through to installation, commissioning and handover. You'll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and other teams across the business to turn opportunities into practical, sustainable solutions.

The role

You'll have real accountability for delivering projects safely, effectively and to plan - balancing technical requirements with cost, quality, timescale and operational priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading CAPEX projects from concept through to completion


• Developing project scopes, plans, programmes, budgets and resource requirements


• Supporting the development and justification of capital investment proposals


• Managing design, procurement, installation, commissioning and effective handover


• Controlling project expenditure, forecasts, risks, issues and changes


• Coordinating suppliers and contractors, from quotation and technical specification through to site delivery


• Working closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to develop practical, maintainable solutions while minimising operational disruption
