Job summary

Scantec Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer to lead site-based engineering projects from concept to completion. You will own the full lifecycle, coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure safe, efficient plant operation on a busy production site.

The role requires strong project management experience in manufacturing, with proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of CDM/DSEAR. A hands-on, adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering (or similar).
• Strong project management experience in manufacturing or process environments.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and DSEAR.
• Experience with process pipework and plant design.
• Attention to drawing control and revision management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Hands-on, proactive and adaptable approach.
• Experience with Inventor is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full project lifecycle from design through to delivery, commissioning and handover.
• Produce and manage project documentation including design packs, drawings and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams across engineering and operations.
• Act as the main point of contact for site project activity, managing stakeholders and leading project meetings.
• Survey site conditions and develop practical design solutions, overseeing installation and commissioning.
• Maintain and update plant drawings and process documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to plant safety, efficiency and reliability.
• Support general engineering activities across a busy and expanding production site.
• Contribute to site safety, health and environmental objectives.

Job description

We’re supporting a growing manufacturing business in the search for a Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering site-based engineering projects. This is a varied position where you’ll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, supporting the ongoing development of the facility.

Reporting to the Projects Manager, you’ll be a driven and organised engineer with strong project management experience and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

• Take ownership of the full project lifecycle from design through to delivery, commissioning and handover
